First of all... please review the FAQ located in the Medieval board first if this is your first time playing RPG with us. Questions here are based on common questions asked by players about Future Earth.

To find out how to build a Future Earth Character Simply go the Datalink located at: Future Earth Page

Q. Why should I check the Medieval board first?
A. Well most of what applies in the Medieval game will apply here, you will of course substitute the obvious. For instance, when talking about 'gold pieces' that will refer to 'credits' in Future Earth.

Q. Is this like Star Wars or Star Trek?
A. It is based on science fiction, but the technology used in FE is not so advanced as Star Wars or Star Trek. You will find that only interplanetary travel is current and there are no known aliens - at least as far as you know anyways.

FAQ Earth Future

The Game Master says...

Q. Can I play both Medieval RPG and SciFi RPG at the same time?
A. Yes, so long as you have the required Post count and activity rating.

Q. Where can I learn about the differences in technology?
A. Check the Thread within the Future Earth board called, 'Technology Types' or 'Tech Types': Source 7

Q. What is the 'network'?
A. Similar to what we know as the world wide web, but far more advanced.

Q. How does one access the network in the game?
A. Inform the GM in the game that you wish to access the network for 'x' information.

Q. How do you know if the information the network gives you is accurate?
A. You do not, but it is generally considered to be 90% accurate unless you are researching an unknown or undiscovered topic, then you will be reading opinion rather than fact. If your character has high skill in the use of computers and communications then you may be more informed than others about how to obtain accurate information.

Q. Do you have to pay to use the network in the game?
A. No, but you do have to pay for your hand computer.

Q. Am I suppose to know how each piece of equipment works?
A. For game play you just have to know what it does, but not how to operate it. If your character is skilled in the operation of a certain piece of equipment then your character will 'handle' everything and the GM will report the result of a certain action.

FAQ Earth Future

The Game Master says...

Q. Can you give an example of how you use the technology types data or law, etc?
A. Yes, sure I can, let's say you just entered a certain place that is new to you. The GM might say... "You are now on a tech G planet with a B degree of law'. The GM may also op to have it displayed like this... ''G/B". See the technology types and [Future Earth] Planet Stats & Law threadd for more details.

Q. How do I know the tech names for things?
A. Just describe what it is you want to do or ask for something with a description and the GM will give you an appropriate name.

[Future Earth] FAQ

The Game Master says...

Q. What are the Future Earth Personal Adventurers?
A. That section enables you to play a private RPG game where it is just you ant the GM, so there is no need for party order or waiting on players to make up their mind.

Q. Why do I have to pay for the Personal Section?
A. We have to plan an adventure just for your character, this takes a lot of time, resources and energy.

Q. Can I play in Medieval and still have a character in Future Earth gaining experience in the Personal Section?
A. Yes, once you make the required requirements of Post count and Activity. This is actually a good strategy since it insures that your character will be developed by the time you are ready for team play.

[Future Earth] FAQ

The Game Master says...

Q. What is the difference between Future Earth and Plugged RPG?
A. There are many differences and we will list them from the perspective of how Future Earth is different:
* More like plug and is based mainly on group play
* A different time period and is not limited to Zion or the Matrix
* Different Character Classes and equipment
* Progression is similar to Medieval

Q. I do not understand how the stats work, can you help me?
A. You can find specific on that here: https://www.bordeglobal.com/foruminv/index.php?showtopic=6938

Q. Can I exchange FP for Credits as is done with GPs in Medieval?
A. No. Players in Future Earth start with a healthy amount of credits which if used wisely can carry them far enough to earn even more through the game.

Q. Why does the 'World of Medieval' seem to be more popular than FE?
A. Most people rather to live in the past I guess *shrug*. It may also be that unlike familiar RPGs such as Star Wars and Star Trek, FE takes them into a completely different theme which may require taking the time to study the text.
