I just added two lengthy threads about healing please read them and discuss them in party order - this thread should be only for final decisions.

Rescue Order party

Updated party order so that you don't have to try to figure out what has changed based upon our conversation of yesterday.--

Daphne will purchase:
1 Herbs for disease
1 Poison Cure Potion
1 Snake Venom Flask

Sabina will purhase:
Leather Armor
Helmet
Horse
Saddle
Blanket
Oats, 4 days
Oat bag
saddlebag
Healer's pouch
Healing herbs, 4 doses

We will wait one week before journeying. During the recovery period certain actions will be taken by various members to improve their capabilities for the upcoming adventure. I will list those here. Then once the recovery is complete we will make our purchases and head out of the village. The last portion of my post will cover the formation we will take with our new members.

Remi will tend to Mud's wounds with his herbs. Then, Remi will investigate the phases of the moons if possible to find out if the party shall happen on any dark night in the near future. It is the hope that we can find a time not too far in the future where the moon will be at it's lowest brightness so that the nights will be dark. That is when we prefer to continue our journey if possible. In addition, Remi will be investigating around town to see if he can learn any information that will aid us in our pursuit of these bandits. Specifically he will seek to learn such things as the common tactics of the type of thieves we are hunting (if they prefer to attack at night or at day break, ranged or close.). Is there any other known case of them abducting people? Has anybody successfully negotiated with them?

Malice after speaking goes out near a clearing and begins his normal routine and train his body with his axe and exercises to be able to keep up with the opponents that see a challenge in him. He will use the time the others need for healing to improve his warrior skills. After his daily training Malice goes into town to volunteer his services to the local blacksmith to keep his skills intact. After each high quality item that is produced he asks if he is allowed to engrave his name and the blacksmiths name on the item each time. He decides to pack his items he wishes to use in his pack and sets his weapon and armour near his pack, keeping them in sight at all times.

As Joe is healing, he works on training his horse to be able to recognize some basic verbal commands, as well as hands-free guidance (knees, bodyweight shifts, etc.) When it is time to leave, Joe will perform the following actions:

Wears leather armor
Puts cloak on over armor
Store 6 days rations in backpack
Store 2 sets of healing herbs in backpack
Store oats for horse in saddlebags
Store 5 days rations in saddlebags


While the party members recuperate, heal, and rejuvenate, Sabina works daily on weapons practice -- including both her sword and sling, horse training, and studies about healing herbs.

In addition to recovering herself, Ice will tend to her horse so that he will be at full strength for the upcoming journey as well. Ice will wear her new plate armor, but pack her leather armor and bring it with her.

New formation:

We have six on horseback and three on foot.

Sabina and Ice will act as scouts initially. They will ride in front of the group about 1 mile ahead. They will look for the best trail to take keeping in mind food and water concerns for the horses and people. They will look for signs of others traveling that way and will be watchful for those around them. At the first sign of trouble they will hurry back to the group. When they come to a point where a decision needs to be made regarding direction, they will head back to the group and lead them to that point. Then they will head out again to scout.

Of the remaining party, Kron will be in the lead on his horse walking slowly with the group, with Daphne beside him, Then will walk Mailice, on the left, Remi in the middle, and Cyroc on the right, then Mud and Joe will be in the rear. Joe plans to walk his horse rather than ride it.

When we can only go single file, we will go Ice, Sabina, Kron, Daphne, Malice, Remi, Cyroc, Joe and Mud.

[party Order] The Rescue RPG PBP Medieval World

The healthy members of party will begin searching for materials that will be useful in building body doubles that they can use in a plan to catch the bandits attempting to attack them at night. They will look for suitable sticks to use to build two or three figures and sacks that they can fill with leaves, etc., to form a body. While they are working to develop these body doubles and finalizing their plans, Joe will visit the doctor to see if he can help with the healing process.

Page 4 Rescue Order party

Joe will remain in the village to continue to recover from his wounds. The rest of the party is now leaving. They will set out as stated in party formation, except for no Joe. This means that Sabina and Ice will be riding about 1 mile in front of the party looking for the best route to travel, considering needs for food and water. When they need to instruct the group regarding a change in direction, they will return to the group andlead them to that point before heading out in the lead again. The group with the walkers that are to be traveling slower, will keep their eyes open for any signs of activity that may have taken place along the way. They will look for signs of wild life, signs or horse tracks and anything else of note or interest.

Ice turns to the group and says: "Sabina and I will be in the lead, keep your eyes open and be ready for battle at a moments notice. Let's go"

Rescue Order party

Ice and Sabina, will try to determine if they have been spotted. If it appears they have been seen or if they are not sure if they have been seen, then they will hail the hunters as follows:

Ice will say, "Hello in the woods. Be ye hunters?" They will ask if they have had any success hunting and also if they have seen anything or anyone out of the ordinary while they are hunting.

If they are sure they haven't been seen, then Ice and Sabina will take cover and observe the party first to determine if they are, in fact, hunters who are no threat or if they might present a danger. If they can determine they are just hunters from the village, they will then call them as indicated above. If it appears these people are bandits or a threat in any other way, then Ice and Sabina will hurry back to the group to warn them and to make further plans.

In both cases, Sabina has her sword drawn and Ice checks to be sure her bow and arrows are easily accessible in case they are needed.

Sabina scowls fiercely at the hunters' whispering and ogling. She sheaths her sword in disgust, shaking her head at men's folly, and prepares to ride on.

Ice, whispers to Sabina, "Easy now. I am not any happier at their looks than you are. You would think they have never seen women warriors before, but I think this is a time for diplomacy."

Swallowing her pride, she speaks to the hunters "Good day to you. Mind if we ask you a few questions? As you can see we are warriors and we are just beginning our latest quest." She looks directly at the one who responded to her questions before and says: "You look like quite a mighty hunter, yourself. How far from the village has your hunting brought you?"

Ice will wait for an answer and then if appropriate she will ask: "From which direction have you just come?" She won't ask this if they tell her they just came from the village themselves. She will then ask: "Have you seen any signs of bandits while you were hunting?"

1. Who is 'her' / 'she' in the above quote.
