Gwendolyn Renee Stefani was born Oct 3rd, 1969 in Anaheim, CA. She and her brother Eric started the band 'No Doubt' when she was a teenager. When their lead singer committed suicide, Gwen moved to the lead vocal role and hasn't looked back since. She is currently married to English rocker and lead singer of the group 'Bush', Gavin Rossdale, and is stepmother to his 16-year old daughter Daisy. Gwen dated 'No Doubt' bandmate Tony Kanal for 8 years before they broke up and she started dating Gavin.

I was a big fan of No Doubt. I was very disappointed to see her leave. Their CD Tragic Kingdom still remains one of my favorites. I have listened to her solo stuff and don't find it to the caliber of her work with No Doubt. She does, however, get very diverse on her new CD. She puts pop, rock, and Hip-Hop all on one CD. Most people couldn't get away with that, but she has a very devoted following that will most likely accept anything she puts out there.

I also never found Gwen very attractive. But she always seems to have a sort of sex appeal that makes people look at her. She appears to have a personality that attracts people of all sorts and makes her the center of attention. Her voice also ranks among the most unique I have heard before. I truly cant think of anyone that sounds like her accept maybe Sherlie Manson of Garbage.

I adored Gwen Stefani for her personality, vocal talents, and the fact that she was a positive role model to girls (*cough*BrittneySpearsChristinaGuillera*cough*) and was also really sad she left (although I liked Return To Saturn a bit more then Tragic Kingdom ) but now she's becoming rap and wearing rather revealing things, and in the video for 'What you waiting for' the panting definitely added to that displeasure (plus I have no clue what BANANA is). But the meaning I saw in Hollaback Girl, the one song on enough while I had Fuse TV on for me to actually bring myself to watch it all, was that she isn't someone he should call on when... Well, when heisn't interested in a relationship (and probably not even then) Which I thought was shallow but didn't stoop to using sex appeal for the sole (or at all) selling point.

I always enjoyed Gwen Stefani with "No Doubt", I thought they put out very enjoyable music......and I still enjoy her solo offerings...BUT ... I am starting to worry that she is going the route of Madonna. Lots of pop hits, then remaining a force within the music industry while she slowly succumbs to the darker ( and sleazier) side of her nature.


Still, I think she has many years of singing ahead of her before she goes .....off the deep end. So I'll be listening for her material.

I didn't mind No Doubt but I've never been a big fan of them. When I first heard she was going solo, I though she would do well because of her voice. Love, Angel, Music, Baby was an awesome album. It was catchy as hell but really enjoyable beyond that. I felt like her last album, The Sweet Escape, really paled in comparison to L.A.M.B. Which is too bad.

Really amazing artist. I used to jam all day to "The Sweet Escape" but it got old. Holaback girl was also one of her many hits. I wish she had a second coming.
