Actually I was just thinking if such pill does really exist to make the change but temporaly, most people will line up to it just to know what it feels like to be from another race and how you would look like, now if the pill transformation is forever then definetly you will not get so many people to do it.
Hmmm, thats interesting, the physical changes. If this pill or potion did exist, which race would you choose for a temporary change. I wonder if this warrants its own topic, or can we fit it in under here.
Me, I've always wanted to experience asian culture, with the whole honor system and everything. Also it is a beautiful culture as a whole.
I think people won't do it because usually people are proud of there race and relate there race to there nationality also most people that will take the pill will probably to it because its 'in' to be latino for instance.
I would also like to state that human races are the invention of human imagination biologically there is no such thing as human races.
/\ Thank you for mentioning that human races are an a invention of the human mind. I believe because humans tend to judge on apperance, then make a assumption, which spreads a long and becomes a perception. Personally, I believe all races are equal, they all had their ups and downs so just be happy to live in this world. Besides if we were all the same, life would be boring, now wouldn't it?
Offtopic but, That is one of the reasons I love the northern Canadian city of Yellowknife! 100 nationalites living in peace together in a quite frankly, a boomtown of the world |
While Irichan would want to be Caucasian, I would want to be Nihonjin (Japanese), my friends tell me that I act japanese and I love to study the culture. My best friend tells me that I should have been born Japanese. But since I am not Japanese then I am satisfied with being American.
Offtopic but, Yes Irichan, most Americans do find Asian cute, but for me it's more of who would make a good wife. For me since Asian people are Honor bound that they would be more faithful. |
I'm mixed, between 3 major racial categories from at least 7 different countries of origin - racially speaking, I'm in no-man's land.
Unlike the other mixed person who answered though, I absolutely do not want to change. I love the person I am. I have learned over the years that people who insist on categorizing everyone to a specific racial label are the ones with the problem.
I honestly think that if people tried to be "colourblind" instead of focusing so very hard on stereotyping people based on stupid non-issues like skin colour, the world would be improved tremendously.
Offtopic but, Note to rikome: The black people who insist that we're different or "less" because of our colour are just as prejudiced and racist in outlook, as a white person who insists on the same point... whether or not they understand what they're doing. |
There will be myriads upon myriads of shameless people waiting for such a pill or potion. Why? Well, because of one reason: stereotypes.
To explain it, people will either wish to escape their current stereotype they are often scorned with or to conform to another one that they so credulously believe will better them (or knowing one race has less stereotypes than another).

Name: Jim
Comments: I would strongly welcome a pill that would enable me to change from white to black. Such a pill would allow my perception of myself as truly black to be in alignment with my external skin color, which I have already significantly darkened. Yes, I would want such a pill, and would welcome the satisfaction of becoming a black man.
