Which race of people do you think has been the most unfortunate in the Earth's life span? Consider the following in your answer:
1. Being prosperous before and not now
2. Freedom and rights
3. Their ability to demand respect wherever they travel
4. Their current status in Society
5. Majority or Minority in numbers compared to other races
6. Their general history
I think Africans have had the most unfortunate history. Excluding Egypt, African countries have had a history of being poor and at the bottom of the pool in the world. Take Ethiopia for instance. At one time, they where nothing but a dirt poor tribal nation. They where fortunate enough to have a leader like Haile Selassie in the thirties to make them a rich nation. But soon after his death, the country once again plummeted into poverty. South Africa was a segregated country for many years, blacks have much lower rights than whites. Black discrimination in Africa? Countries like Somalia have never been good countries to live in, constantly suffering from famine and wars. African nations have had the most unfortunate luck, living in a very harsh land.
I think Jewish people have had it pretty bad, as well. Judaism is not just a religion, it is considered an ethnicity. So I think it counts. They as a people spent generations as slaves. That was ancient history, but still a part of what they have had to endure. Then there were the Pogroms in Russia in the early 1900's. Finally (well maybe not even finally), there was the holocaust in the 1940's.
