Is there a difference in behavior, concept and practise of Muslims who have been born and raised in the Western World as compared to a Muslim born and raised in the Eastern World? In your answer you should give specific examples from experience and not merely because you watched a documentary or television show.
From personal observation I find that Western Muslims are generally more accepting or tolerable towards the Western lifestyle. I have even known Muslims to celebrate Christmas with the excuse that they are celebrating the 'Prophet' Jesus rather than the 'Savior' Jesus. This does not mean that they may wish things to be more in the style of Islam, but indeed on the outside they do not seem as stringent in being isolated just because someone does not share their opinions / beliefs. I have found that Eastern Muslims to be more serious and stern about Western cultures and customs.
I think it varies according to the region and country they are from...not being exposed to other cultures and faiths automatically leads to a certain level of apprehension when dealing with them..so a Muslim from Malaysia (which has a substantial non muslim minority) would react differently compared to a Muslim from Afghanistan (which is 100% Muslim)
As a rule of thumb in the West, you find American Muslims better integrated compared to their European counterparts..
