Wil Smith As Neo - Page 2

That aura is one I can definitely do without. I notice that most people from North America like the element of comedy with serious themes, but for me I like to keep them separated. The matrix is not an Anime (and I am not talking about Animatrix which was pretty serious). If I go to see something to make me think, contemplate and feel activated from action then I go to see that, if I want to see silly comedy with Wil Smith then I will watch reruns of 'The Prince of Bel Air'.

It would definately be weird to see Will Smith as Neo. I don't think he has the type of serioussness needed and wouldn't really fit the underlying philospy portion of the movies. But maybe if he had done it in the first place it could have been good.

I am not a fan of Keano Reeves, in my opinion he is one of the most wooden of the major actors, lacking much needed charisma. But as it has clearly been mentioned Neo's character is a serious one and if their is one character type he can do its serious. Will smith, though far more talented would not have helped convey the ideas this film brouht about and the intensity of the situations.
