Sony confirms personal info theft of all 77 million network users

Sony Corp. has informed a U.S. congressional panel that personal information related to all 77 million users of its online services was stolen during a recent data breach involving its popular PlayStation gaming systems.
In a written response dated Tuesday to a question paper from the House of Representatives' Energy and Commerce Committee, Sony said, "The criminal intruders stole personal information from all of the approximately 77 million PlayStation Network and Qriocity service accounts." (Japan Times)

I can imagine their network will start to cost very shortly to try and recover some of the loss and maybe they will then start to give support and provide a good service like microsoft do (smile)
Wow, now that is some serious downtime. My brother is on the PS3 often and has found this life changing he actually goes outdoors now .
He said that as compensation users are being offered a choice of 2 games from a list of x amount for free along with two months of the payable service on psn.
Wish I was on there for this could do with a few freebies (smile)
