Yeah but many people just do not care about anyone else but themselves. We are fast becoming a nation of million of individuals instead of a united states with millions of Americans.

Yes, I agree with this. But the airlines are to blame for their bad press even if its unruly passengers. Had they handled the original incident better they'd be so much better off.
