Religious parents regularly  teach their children to worship God and practice a certain belief.
We often hear the children reply with " Oh mommy!" :crybaby "But that’s boring" :ever "I want to go and play" :ex "But how come my friend doesn’t have to pray" :ek

Often when the children keep showing bad behaviour the parents loose patience  :fury:.. or become very stressed out and don't know what the right way to bring up there children is sad.gif(( and feel a falier...

What methods can you think of that might make religion more fun for children?

In addition, what is the best way for parents to discipline their child at times of disobedience?

Delcita, the other day I was thinking about that. I think parents should teach their children to live their religion by using fun techniques to teach them (specially when they're small or teenagers). Practical teaching tools are great and maybe teaching them outdoors or having family fun nights with games, etc. Every Monday night at home we have something we call Family Home Evening when we get together we share a spiritual lesson and then we play a game or watch a movie. It brings our family together and we have fun learning more about the Gospel. smile.gif

Hmmm this is a very hard question. It depends a lot in the child, the age, etc. One of the best ways is taking away their privileges and standing firm in their punishments. I do not agree with physical or psychological punishment because has not effect whatsoever and it only brings negativity to the children's life.

Making religion more exciting for child Beliefs Religious General

One major thing I have learned from teaching children Bible Studies, and even remembering what interested me as a child, was to always keep them busy and doing something. Younger children, especially, do not, will not, refuse to merely sit and listen to a sermon-like study, and we can't expect them to. They have all that energy running through their body.

When I teach a lesson to children, I try to make different stations and different activities to prevent them from always just sitting there. A very active game is always great to get them in a bit of a unified connection.

Plays, skits, and role plays are something else that children LOVE to do. When they have to get up and create a skit or act out a character in the Bible or another religious figure, they have a tendancy to remember it more.
