In this day and age I think there is not a country on this earth that does not have domestic terrorist so why would people find it strange that they exist in the USA. Since we here in the USA have more freedoms than many other countries it is a bit harder to find and eliminate the terrorists. I think that as long as there are people who are unhappy about rules and regulations then there is always going to be a potential of someone becoming a terrorist. The latest ricin scare via the mail is just a example of it.
Attorney General Eric Holder is most afraid of a terrorist attack on the United States from a so-called lone wolf, such as the attackers involved in the Washington Navy Yard and Los Angeles airport shootings.
"I'm very concerned about individuals who get radicalized in a variety of ways, sometimes self-radicalized," He said.

Authorities say a Kansas man accused of planning to detonate a car bomb at the Wichita airport has been arrested. U.S. Attorney Barry Grissom said the man was arrested Friday morning at Mid-Continent regional airport. He said the man planned to drive a car that he believed was full of explosives into a terminal at the airport. Investigators say the man is an avionics technician who lives in Wichita and works at the airport. Ref. USAToday

An unknown white powder has been found at hotels near the site of the Super Bowl, New Jersey authorities said today, and hazardous materials teams and a bomb squad have responded.
In New York, authorities also were investigating the contents of a letter sent to the Manhattan office of former Mayor Rudy Giuliani, two law enforcement officials said.
The letter, opened in the mail room, contained white powder, according to law enforcement officials.
In New Jersey, the site of Sunday's Super Bowl, an unidentified substance was delivered to two hotels in Carlstadt and one in East Rutherford, said Jeanne Baratta, chief of staff at the Bergen County Executive's Office. Ref. CNN
