STUDENT SENTENCED TO 30 YEARS FOR PLOT TO KILL BUSH
An American Muslim student found guilty of belonging to al-Qaeda and plotting to kill U.S. President George W. Bush has been sentenced to 30 years in prison.

I am sure this student's view of the US administration and Bush is not isolated. The question is how many of those who disagree would actually go to the lengths of joining a terrorist organization with the intent to engage in acts of terrorism against the US and its leaders? While I understand the judge's stance of being lenient because intentions were not carried out, I think a stiffer sentence was warranted to send the appropriate message to those who may think similarly.
