Son Of Man

Since Jesus Christ is the literal Son of God why would he be referred to as the Son of Man?

Jesus Christ also said that all of us could be sons of God. In John, when questioned by pharisees that he was blaspheming by saying he was the son of god, he said that it is written that we are all Gods.
John 10
34.Jesus answered them, "Is it not written in your Law, "I have said you are gods"? 35.If he called them "gods," to whom the word of God came-and the Scripture cannot be broken- 36.what about the one whom the Father set apart as his very own and sent into the world? Why then do you accuse me of blasphemy because I said, "I am God's Son"? 37.Do not believe me unless I do what my Father does. 38.But if I do it, even though you do not believe me, believe the miracles that you may know and understand that the Father is in me, and I in the Father."

He is the son of man because he was born from a man and woman. He is the son of God because he was set apart as a son of God. And we can all be sons of God, literally, remember, it was not stated that he was the Son of God until his baptism by John the Baptist.
John 1

12Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God- 13children born not of natural descent,[c] nor of human decision or a husband's will, but born of God.

Depending on what you know about translations, the literal translation is read, "this day I have begotten thee". The literal translation of this moment implies that Jesus was made Gods Son at the point in time that he was baptised, not that he was an actual physical Son of God.
It was claimed that Jesus was not born of natural descent, but born of God. It is clear that Jesus was not the only one who could be born of God and become a son of God.

John 1

32Then John gave this testimony: "I saw the Spirit come down from heaven as a dove and remain on him. 33I would not have known him, except that the one who sent me to baptize with water told me, "The man on whom you see the Spirit come down and remain is he who will baptize with the Holy Spirit." 34I have seen and I testify that this is the Son of God."
John testifies that he is the Son of God after his baptism. A little history or Jewish baptismal movement. Baptism had been taught for a couple centuries already as a means for the cleansing of sins. This was well known and has been well documented already. But Jesus was perfect and supposedly God. Why would Jesus have to be baptized at all? His lack of baptism would particularly show the world that he wasn't perfect and that he too needed cleansing from sin.

So it looks to me as if Jesus was both the Son of Man by birth, and the Son of God by baptism. That is why Jesus continually specifics his being the Son of Man and the Son of God separately, because he is both.
