JUDGE BARS NAVY SONAR USE IN HAWAII WAR GAMES
A federal judge issued a temporary restraining order Monday barring the Navy from using a type of sonar, allegedly harmful to marine mammals, during a Pacific warfare exercise scheduled to begin this week.

I guess the question remains to me whether this type of sonar is used in regular warfare operations? If it is, then what is the point of banning its use in a training exercise? However, if its not used, then perhaps we should be looking at a permanent ban on its use ever. No need to hurt wild life unnecessarily.
