National mortgage rates on 30-year fixed mortgages climbed 3 basis points from 4.74% to 4.77% on December 15, 2010, according to Zillow Mortgage Marketplace. As a comparison, state rates ranged from a low of 4.72% (AZ, HI, NM, OR) to a high of 4.91% (DC).

Compared to the week prior to December 15, 2010, the national 30-year mortgage rate is up 11 basis points from 4.66%. Compared to three months ago, the 30-year rate is up 44 basis points from its average rate of 4.33%.

Looks like the scandal of home mortgages are going up again. I was looking forward to seeing it under 4% but now its heading towards 5%!
