JOHN WEINZWEIG, CANADA'S DEAN OF CLASSICAL COMPOSING, DIES
Canadian classical music composer John Weinzweig died Thursday night in a Toronto hospital. He was 93.

I had the pleasure of hearing some of his pieces performed in my early teens. I had the pleasure of going to hear some of his pieces performed with my class in my early teens. I don't remember most of their names, but I remember that the two I liked best were from one call Edge of the World. I never was able to hear any more from him. But what I heard did stay with me to this day. He was so creative and unique, breaking from the norm in classical style music.
