Orexigen Obesity Pill
For the first time in a decade, a Food and Drug Administration advisory panel Tuesday recommended approval of a pill to combat obesity: Contrave, produced by La Jolla-based Orexigen.
The FDA, which usually follows the recommendations of its advisory panels, is expected to decide on the drug by Jan. 31, meaning that Contrave could be on the market in the first half of next year. Ref. Source 8
