
Singapore locks up U.S. man for possessing porn
Reuters - Singapore police handcuffed and locked up a U.S. citizen for bringing 58 pornographic DVDs and video CDs into the wealthy city-state when he moved to Singapore last year, a newspaper reported Thursday.

Wow, did I see a ban on chewing gum at the end of that article? While I disagreed with the strict rules and regulations of Singapore, the man was a fool for not reading up on the laws and thus following them. He deserved to be given the same treatment as the citizens including any punishments under law.
Well I do not agree with the strict laws of Singapore. But in general it is not good to carry possibly controversial and offensive material across international borders. Generally, if you don't carry controversial and offensive material you are fine.
I wonder why gum chewing is banned? Maybe it ruins the culture?
