My wife made me watch this movie. I had no desire to watch it because I was sure that I would end up upset either way. But in the end, this movie is a tear jerker that truly shows that parental love has no boundaries.

A great movie, a bit long, but I guess they wanted you to feel for Sam in every way possible. As Konquererz said, this movie is about love. Despite all the professionalism of people who think they know better, you cannot know better than love.

I loved the movie. I think Sean Penn did a wonderful job. He was amazing and Michelle Pfeiffer was also really good. I cried in several parts of the movie. It was very touching. I was surprised to read that the movie had several nominations for different kind of movie festivals and Dakota Fanning won several of them but Sean Penn even though was nominated to most of them did not won even one. It is a shame. He was even nominated for the Oscar bu he did not won either.
