Standby Hibernate

If your using windows, you had better be using standby. Standby essential shuts down the monitor and hard drive to save power. Everything stays loaded in memory for a quick return to the state you where in at time of standby. Hibernate has some serious issues. It allows your computer to come to an almost complete stop and be in a sleeping state until you are ready for it. The idea again is to stay at the same state you where in for a long period of time. The problem is that windows hibernate has always had the flaw of not coming out of hibernation. Then you have to hard boot the machine which is a bad case scenario.

Hibernate And Standby Gaming Video & Issues Computer

I use hibernate on my work laptop every day when I am bringing it home. It works quite well. The IBM Laptops are equipped with an Fn or Function key and through a sequence of key strokes, one can place the laptop in hibernation mode. It allows me to have the laptop still powered on while taking very little battery power. When I get home, I simply hit the Power button, my Windows session resumes in less than a minute. I usually close all windows before going into hibernate mode, but coming back to Windows from Hibernation is a lot quicker than coming up from a full shutdown. I love it!
