Consider where you normally stay when travelling abroad... does it enhance your stay or cause more stress? Consider where you would rather stay if given the opportunity.
I love camping! When ever we went on summer vacations we always camped all the way there and back except when it rained. I love being in nature and almost never sleep well in a hotel. I also don't like feeling like I'm a burden on my relatives. I like all my relatives and would like to keep it that way by not knowing what they are like when everyone goes home!
My husband and I have stayed in several different arrangements. We once stayed in a bed and breakfast that was so small that we had to leave everything in our suitcases and stack them on top of each other when we were done with them because there was no walk room. On top of that, the "Breakfast" was just cereal and whole fruit. I was not impressed when I actually thought the staff served warm breakfast items (ie eggs, bacon, toast).
We've stayed with relatives too, and again, you can only fit so many people in a small house. We recently traveled abroad, and we stayed with family out of convenience, but it made for a very uncomfortable stay.
I am also allergic to mosquito bites, and after my last trip, I will never stay in a place where the windows stay open. I got attacked, therefore I cannot camp outdoors either. So, I guess this leaves me with an option to stay at a hotel (with air condition).
