When in a certain mood -- or trying to create a calmer, more peaceful mood -- I love classical music! Some of it is kind of... hmm. "deadly" is the word that comes to mind -- it's very strong, deep notes .. dirges and that sort of thing. Depressing. But so much is light and lighthearted. My favorites are Vivaldi, Mozart, and some of Bach. But I am no afficianado -- I couldn't name a favorite piece! I just listen to what I like most on the CDs I buy.

I love Classical music. And it's grossly unfair when people deem it as "boring".

Just as there are many types of modern music, there are equally many different types of Classical music - especially when you think about the fact that a lot of them were the "popular music" centuries ago.

I do not listen to Classical music to "calm myself". To begin with, I don't like that kind of music to begin with. I prefer passionate pieces, and sometimes dramatic. Alright. A little Haydn and Mozart won't hurt, of course, but I just don't like those two. Anyway.

If anything, Classical music is a wonderful art that needs to be appreciated more. And a lot of composers and performers really stay true to the music, which is a really wonderful thing.

There are so many different types of classical how can you not like at least one of them? From the 1812 overture to Handel's Messiah there is a world of difference.

I love classical music. My all time favorite piece is Bach's Toccatta and Fuge in D Minor. I have several different recordings of it. My favorite recording was done in the King's College Chapel in Cambridge, England. However, it is on vinyl, and we haven't had a working turntable for a long time.

My next favorite version of it is not done on the organ, but is the electric violin version done by Vanessa Mae. She modified some of it, but the passion and power she puts into it is just incredible.

Other than that, I really love such things as Vivaldi's Four Seasons, Bach's Brandenburg Concertos, Beethovan's Sixth Symphony, and Mozart's Eine Kleine Nachtmusik.

Now, go figure how it is that I love Led Zeppelin's The Battle of Evermore and Dazed and Confused just as much.

She is just amazing! I remember reading an interview with her and she was saying she played the violin since she was 3 years old and that she had and has to make so many sacrifices because the violin is such a demanding instrument, but she is just amazing.
I love classical music. I do not have any favourites, I like to listen to music in general but how can classical music be boring for someone when it penetrates so deep into your soul?.

I very much enjoy classical music because I feel like I can relate to the feelings it portrays. Classical music is one of the founding genres of music and even to this day it is celebrated and loved. I hope it continues this way.

I love classical music, even if the term is a bit misused. Classical music actually does refer to an era of music, but most people use it to refer to instrumental music. Even before I was involved in instrumental music I always loved to listen to it. There are so many elements that the music is composed of that you don't necessarily see in vocal music. It does relax me and when I listen to it, I can really focus on the music and all the different pieces and parts.
