Bullet Proof Vests Not Bullet Proof
How can you make so many of something only to discover it does not work? We are talking about a critical piece of equipment here. On another thread there was the similar case with heart related devices - what is going on with manufacturing these days?
WARNING: BODY ARMOR MAY BE DEFECTIVE
A maker of body armor said Wednesday that nearly 100,000 of its vests may not be bullet-resistant and urged police departments nationwide to replace them.

Proof Bullet Vests Proof Bullet
Reading the article lets you know that this company was the largest manufacturer of protective body armor in the US. While they have been in business a long time, this is what our police are down to saying:

The interesting thing is that the company recalled all the vests made completely out of Zylon last fall, but failed to recall the vests that are partially made out of Zylon. If vest made of all Zylon where bad, what made them think that partial Zylon vests where alright to use? They should have recalled all of them!
