The kid does say that the lie he told the reporter can be verified as a lie, so that would just prove he is a total idiot and calus for having said anything of the sort. However, the thing that bothers me is that many profiles of killers say that they cannot keep the secret they are hiding and have to tell someone. Perhaps this lie was a way to acknowledge that he had involvement, but a way out as well?

I read this story and basically it is almost exactly like what the authorities thought happened about a week after the murder. They even interviewed a guy that knew Joran that had a boat. The main difference in the story he tells now and what the authorities thought was that Joran and the Kalpoe boys were released after questioning and they basically were not held under surveillance. At this time it was thought that disposed of the body at sea on the friends boat. Apparently, if this is the truth, he called the friend that night and the friend disposed of the body and Joran went home. Even in this taped conversation, he really doesn't give a good indication on how she died. I have the feeling she was drugged to the point of a OD. This tape is probably inadmissable in a court of law (at least it probably would be in US law), so they still need to find someone to back up or confess that the story is correct. As long as everyone stays silent, this will likely blow over, but if anyone else cracks...it will be a flood and the truth will come out.
The friend that had the boat wasn't even one of the Kalpoe boys. Those 2 may actually not have been there when the death occurred and the phone call to the friend with a boat made. However, I think I remember that they actually drove Joran home that night, so they may actually know a bit more than they told. However, the one thing that got me was that Joran apparently was already thinking alibi as soon as it happened. He had to get home and he had to go to the casino the next day....he had to make everything seem normal.
The parents are of course saddened by the news, but also seemed to have accepted this as the truth as to what happened to Natalie.
I would hate to be this kid when he goes for his final check out interview at the pearly gates!

ORANJESTAD, Aruba - A hidden-camera interview with a Dutch student saying he believed missing teenager Natalee Holloway was dead and asking a friend to dump her body at sea is admissible in court, the chief Aruban prosecutor said Monday. The courts in Aruba will likely accept the tape as evidence because it was recorded by a private citizen without any influence by authorities, Chief Prosecutor Hans Mos told reporters. "I take it very seriously," Mos said of the video. The tape, which was first broadcast Sunday on Dutch television, has appeared to spur the investigation: Mos said authorities in the Netherlands searched two homes Monday where van der Sloot has lived while attending college there. The prosecutor declined to provide any details about the searches. A judge in Aruba denied a prosecution arrest to detain Van der Sloot based on the new information. Mos said they will file an appeal Tuesday and expect a decision within a week. In the secret recordings broadcast, Van der Sloot said Holloway, 18, was drunk and that she began shaking and slumped down on the beach as they were kissing in May 2005... |

I actually believe this idiot was telling the truth. They actually did detain for a interview a friend that had a boat near the beginning of this whole thing. The main difference in story was that they believed the friend and the boys took her out to sea after they got out of jail/being detained the first time and there whereabouts were not tracked. They believed that the Kalpoe guys were in on it from the beginning.
Watching the video was the other thing. He was so non-chalant about the whole thing. He wasnt even sorry she died...it was basically like she was screwing him over by dying.
As far as daddy goes, I think he gave his boy some very sage advice that he should heed. I am sure that daddy, being in the legal business himself, told Joran to shut up and not say anything. It looks like he keep to that strategy until the car ride. I mean this kid was interrogated (I am sure many good cops and bad cops played) for extensive lengths. Why would he slip up here? It just reminds me of what I have read from profilers on this type of person and it really reminds me of OJ's "what if" book.
My absolute favorite part is his evidence that this was a lie. His evidence is that it doesnt match the other lies he told to police, therefore, it cannot be true. Priceless...

I really have a hard time trying to describe Joran Van der Sloot, I am not sure whether is a psychopath, a compulsive liar or a monster who killed Natalee and just love the attention he is getting.

NEW YORK - An appeals court has denied a request by Aruban prosecutors to arrest a Dutch college student in the disappearance of Natalee Holloway, his lawyer said in an interview Thursday. The prosecutors had appealed a decision earlier this month by an Aruban judge that Joran Van der Sloot could not be arrested based on statements he made in a secretly recorded video. The tape showed Van der Sloot saying he was with the Alabama teenager when she died in the Dutch Caribbean island and that he had a friend dump her body at sea. The appeals court ruled that Van der Sloot's statements were inconsistent with other evidence and insufficient to hold him, the Dutch student's lawyer, Joseph Tacopina, told Fox News. He said the investigation remains, he added. "The statements are in fact disprovable, in large part, by the evidence, the court opined," Tacopina said. Tacopina and Aruban officials could not immediately be reached for further comment... |

This kid just cant let go of the spotlight. Well he is back at it again with a whole new truth that he then says was a lie...maybe, sort of, could be:
Now he says that he accidentally sold Natalee Holloway to some other guy looking for blondes. He actually said that it wasnt her that he was wanting to get together with at first it was one of her friends, but apparently Natalee was more into Joran. This guy (that apparently Joran forgets or has a hard time remembering his name) periodically tells Joran that he will pay him if Joran brings him a blonde. Joran doesnt think too much about this over about a month, but then the guy says it a few more times and Joran meets a blonde. Presto...he decides he is going for the deal. He contacts the guy while she is in the car, with the Kalpoe brothers and they set up a meet at the beach/parking lot. The guy shows up, drops off a envelop of cash and grabs her by the arm and takes her to a nearby boat...and off they go. Never to be seen again.
He also says that cops were paid off to stop talking once they found out about the situation by Joran's father. He also says the guy sent him another $10k to keep quiet. I eludes to passing up a million dollars offered by the Kalpoe brothers to keep their names out of it.
The interview gets a little more deep than he wanted and a couple days later he says it was all a lie.

I am going for compulsive liar, psychopath and attention hog. He just cant stop. He called this reporter. The truth is all within this web of lies. There is a little bit here and a little bit there, but it is not all in one complete form. He does seem somewhat tortured by what happened because of how people look at him...not by what happened to her.
If he just wants to get on with his life...change YOUR name. If I saw you walking down the street, I wouldnt know who you were. Flash me that name and I instantly start to make a connection.
I will post the other half of the story tomorrow.

I would buy into the story that she was sold because otherwise a body or parts of a body would have been found by now. I would hope that someday soon someone can put a ending to this story. This guy definitely needs another hobby. How many stories are we going to get from him?
