The Game Master says...

You decide to turn towards the South by avoiding the Village via passage to the East of it. You wonder if in doing so you may be caught, but only time will tell. You move at a carefree pace looking for food for both your horses and selves which you find rather easily, but not sufficient to quench your appetite for good food.

GM: Each party member must make a roll to see if they are caught using the Dice Roll called, 'Seen?'. You are seen by some soldiers and will be pursued if you roll 15 or below. If not you will be just past the Village to the South, but it will be almost nightfall. Report the results in the next Party Order along with what you wish to do.

The Game Master says...

You decide to settle down in a nice nook almost set perfectly for a picnic. This area is luscious and green as you are close to the Village and the sounds of wolves cannot be heard at all. You start a fire and pull out a ration to eat...

GM: A fire this close to the Village is a sure signal. Make a roll (Seen Fire) again to see if anyone spots you. This time you must not get 25 or lower. Party Stats have been updated.

The Game Master says...

After eating Daphne goes over to a clump of brush and trees for a bit of privacy and in doing so she hears some rustling of leaves which causes her to look around quickly, but there is nothing to be seen on this especially dark night. Daphne then attempts to walk back to the camp when an arrow whizzes pass her and sinks deep into a tree. Looking back she sees that the camp is seemingly surrounded by armed figures, their glimmering swords and armor reflected now by your camp fire. Ice stands in amazement for their misfortune.

A voice can be heard from the darkness of the trees,

"Warriors, thou art surrounded, do not attempt to move or act, lest it be the last thing ye do!"

You are then told to stand away from your weapons and be prepared to be taken back to the Village.

GM: Say what you will do now.

The Game Master says...

After doing what has been commanded Ice defiantly asks,

"What is the meaning of this? Why are you harassing us? We have done nothing wrong!"

To which a voice from the woods shouts angrily,

"Silence maiden, you will stand before a judge and squabble all ye like, now stand down as my men bind and take thee back to the Village."

Some soldiers now appear out of the bushes with ropes and as they approach you hear the voice again...

"Move and die, I am not going to be here all night because of the likes of thee, two scoundrels in the woods!"

GM: Say what you will do now.

The Game Master says...

Daphne looks to the guys and put her hands up and says,

"Hey, hey, hey...calm down, we are going to do what you ask us but we would like to know what we have done wrong. We are no criminals to be treated this way"

The hidden soldiers become more apparent, there are about ten of them. No one says anything as they approach you and start to tie your hand and feet with strong chords. Your equipment is bundled into a couple of large sacks. You are then put on a horse like a sack of potatoes bound for the Village.

Later in the evening the soldiers lead you to a prison where you are told in the morning one of the Elders will judge your case. You go to sleep uneasy having never been in prison before nor confined in any way.

The Next Day...

You are brought before one of the Elders of the Village, he hears your case along with that of the old map maker, the short man who gave you the original assignment and a couple of witnesses. You try to fight for yourselves, but is difficult based on your soul and mind.

GM: The party leader may make this roll or defer it to a player depending on which is preferred to speak on behalf of all, but I need one roll only. Look for the one called, 'Judgement', you must get below the combined total of your mind and soul (the player's character making the roll) in order for your case to be found favorable, else you will be found guilty. Post the results in Party Order.

The Game Master says...

Everyone listens to your excuses and reasons, but the Elder refuses to accept your lawless behavior, he then adds,

"We cannot allow such barbarism in the least degree to be flaunted about the Village. Holding thy blade at an official and then refusing to leave someone's home, running from the town guard and thy overall lack of acknowledgement of authority has earned thee the following..."

He then looks down at a parchment, raises his head and continues...

"A week in the prison and 50gps"

He sits back and asks,

"Now, let this serve as a warning that next time I will not be so lenient, what say thee?"

GM: Say what you will do now.

The Game Master says...

After hearing the judgement Ice bottles up her anger and chooses to say nothing while Daphne says,

"We are sorry. We will fulfill our time in prison."

You are then led off to a small, but well enforced prison for one week.

Time passes...

After one week you are told you have one month to pay the 50gps or you have to face the Elder again. You are now free to act...

Ice collects her things and goes into seclusion at her home.

Daphne wonders what to do next.

GM: Say what you will do now.

You pay your dues on time and despite your enthusiasm for life you find that you are not looked upon favorably in the Village.
