The closer you are to the Village the more wooded the area and some streams are available, but since you have proceeded more South you have become aware that there are many plains and only patches of forests here and there.
A look at the ground usually reveals horse prints, but they are not fresh and they are not many as few will travel these parts because they are considered to be grossly unsafe.
In the distance you see the South Mountains and the infamous Death's Mouth which you can reach in about 5 hours or nightfall at your present rate of movement. If you go to full speed gallop then you may reach in a little over and hour.
GM: Please do a Search in the main Medieval Board about Death's Mouth and gather all the info you can since you are a VERY SMALL group and it would be ashame to lose you to folly movement.
Your stomach's growl and your lips thirst.
GM: Say what you will do now.
Anticipating your journey ahead you decide to rest by some trees nearby. There is no ready stream there, but you do have water skins sufficient to quench even the thirst of a horse. You watch carefully for any signs of trouble, but the time passes with nothing amiss.
Daphne has a vague map, but no mapping tools so she cannot update the details, but in reality there is nothing much to update. You are too far from Death's Mouth to see anything of substance and too near to the Village to expect any real danger.
After an hour you feel yourself refreshed.
GM: 1pm. Say what you will do now.
You decide to head North West across the plains. In doing so you find that everything is rather peaceful, just as it is within the Village, but after an hour or so you see within the distance a group of what seems to be heavily clad warriors ahead at a fast gallop coming towards you from the West. You estimate they are about 20 strong and look bold.
To the North and North East is a heavily forested area and to the South are more plains.
GM: Say what you will do now.
Fear has taken your bones at the sight of such a number and you decide to turn and ride fast, but your light riding horses are no match for what seems to be larger war horses and the well fitted group is gaining on you.
You make it to the forest where there are no clear paths and you have to maneuver around trees and tickets. In doing so you see that your pursuers have not relinquished but increased their vigor for you.
GM: Say what you will do now.
Two of you continue onward and one remains back.
By the time Toranez slows down and begins to take off his shirt the pursuers have already overtaken and surrounded him.
With drawn swords and sprung arrows one of them yells,
"Raise thy hands and do not move lest ye be as carcass for the birds of the field.
A sign is then made and 10 follow after Daphne and her running mate with such speed that they soon reach with in firing range and send forth arrows that land as warning shots around you.
GM: Say what you will do now. Each will need to say what they will do. Krakyn is not here who is controlling him? There is a procedure for it under rules.
Against the instructions given by those aiming at you, Toranez chooses to move by looking for dye for his face.
This causes a release of several arrows.
GM: The number that hits Toranez will be done by die roll - go to "Toranez Takes Arrows" and role dice. They are already aiming and are well trained.
Further down the forest two or Toranez's commrades have now become surrounded.
The men who are in no mood for games tell you to dismount with your hands in the air.
GM: Say what you will do now. Ensure that by the next party order Razor has taken the roll.
Four arrows hit their target without regret as Toranzes is sent down to the ground.
His dog starts to run wildly through the forest in fear.
GM: Each arrow does 1-4 damage. For simplicity sake I will give you a die roll of 16. Proceed and make the die toll: 'Toranez takes damage'. The amount will be damage suffered. If greater than your hit points then the character is dead.
Further ahead the soldiers introduce themselves as the protectorate for the king (soldiers of the king) and wanted to find out what you are doing in these parts seeing that you have the look of bandits.
Whatever you say better be very good as you have already tried to run.
GM: Say what you will do now.
Daphne tries to develop a story to explain her actions...
Daphne's reputation is '6', it is hardly likely that anything she says entices the guards. to believe her.
You both are bound and taken to the Village where you are questioned and after many days you are released, and your equipment returned once people verify who you are and that you are indeed part of the Village.
Toranez is buried in the forests.
GM: Now that was quick. I think you people need a bigger party or at least a different plan. Razor will need to follow requirements to create a new character - see Sticky Threads for details.
Reputation of remaining players have been lowered by one with minimal experience added.
