I secure the reigns of the horses and ride them forward slowly in an attempt to see around the boulder further up the path. I continue to scan the horizon in all directions, and again up the side of the mountain looking for movement or shadows.

OOC: I don't get it! First, it seems like there is not "other way" to reach the top, at the same time we are SURELY DEAD if we climb. Going through the main entrance of Death Mouth is suicidal. then what the heck are we supposed to do? Are we missing something? *knocks on my own head*

Is this the same place where you sent your friend to his death earlier, Daphne?

I did not "send" him, he went on his own. I think it is the same place.

Continues to examine the horizon for any movements and looks up at the two wondering what they will do, and if they would survive a climb...

You look up and see that you will almost be parallel with the mountain's surface for this climb

I thinks we must find a new solution perhaps we need to check out the other side of the passage to see if we find any thing better. I will not climb this uhuh now way nota.

Likely take two hours my best guess. We would ride back couple miles then head over to south east side. Say 3 miles back from entrance and look for passage. If this ends in no trails then we are in a very hard spot do we hit the passage running hard?

We need to give the horses a break soon also, oats and water.

I wouldn't mind just heading straight over to have a look. The horses should be rested. We haven't ridden them hard. If trouble brews, we just take off.

If it is quiet, perhaps we continue on to the passage which is further east.

I don't think we have a shot of running Death's Mouth hard, with all the zig zags. I'd rather chance approaching it at night, but then we lose our horses.

Last alternatives are:

* stay close to the Southern Mountains and spend a night on the lookout for the fires - but would wolves be an issue - I don't think so since we could see the wolves coming for miles and just shoot them before they get close enough to be a danger.

* withdraw to the forest at the edge of the plains, set up a perimeter to protect the fire from being seen from the south (Death's Mouth) and stay guard all night.

Just putting options out there.
