In a basement mosque where suspected suicide bombers once prayed, the imam ended worship Thursday with traditional Islamic blessings, then turned to the subject on everyone's mind: "The devil of radicalism is at our doorstep. We must fight it, brothers."

Thank goodness someone is taking a stand with in the faith! I am so proud of the imam of this mosque, it had to take courage to stand up and condemn actions that are at least semi-popular in the muslim community world wide. The teachings of Allah, like the teachings of the Jewish and Christian God, need to come into the modern era. Both Gods originally condone, by actions if not teachings, the death of the enemies of God. But now Christians and Jews understand that God is not a God of death and hatred but a God of peace. Allah is also a God of piece. Islam teaches much peace along with the violence as other religions have. Its time that Muslims stand up and demand peace and demand an end to terrorist acts against the innocent. This imam took steps in that direction, the rest of the muslim world should take note of his courage.
