When you have grown up this way you do not think much of it. I have seen many interviews with some Islamic women and they are happy with it, because it is a form of 'security' for them. I believe such western sinful ways like 'hugging' is discouraged to prevent liberal ideas from freeing the mind of their women. I am speaking about the extremist here and mean no disrespect to the dignified women of Islam and the correct thinking men within its ranks.
