British fighter jets escort passenger plane to Manchester Airport
Military jets in the United Kingdom have escorted a passenger plane into Manchester Airport after the pilot told authorities he received information about a "Device" On board. The plane landed safely. Air traffic into and out of the airport has been halted while the possible threat is investigated. Ref. USAToday
The UK government today raised its terror threat level from substantial to severe, the fourth highest of five levels.
"That means that a terrorist attack is highly likely, but there is no intelligence to suggest that an attack is imminent," Home Secretary Theresa May said. "The increase in the threat level is related to developments in Syria and Iraq, where terrorist groups are planning attacks against the West." Ref. BBC
What good is it to live the terror threat level if we're not in any imminent danger and they have no intelligence about it. Is it just to keep us all afraid?
