London's Metropolitan Police are investigating a Tube incident which has shut down part of a busy London Underground line as terrorism.
It's not yet clear what caused the security alert, which occurred at about 8:20 a.m. Local time (3:20 a.m. ET) at the height of rush hour on a busy commuter line into central London.
But witnesses tell CNN they heard announcements from officials that "Some kind of explosion" had occurred on a train at Parsons Green Tube station.
Deputy Assistant Commissioner Neil Basu, the senior national coordinator for counterterroism policing, has declared it a terrorist incident, the Met Police said in a statement. Ref. CNN.
A lot of people where hurt KN. Some burned severely and one of them was just a kid. They were lucky though because the bomb only partially detonated. Rather than an explosion, which probably would have killed dozens, it just turned into a fire bomb. Burning people for sure but not killing them like an explosion in a tight place like that would have done.
Even if no evidence was found does not mean that there is not someone going around with a sound player of playing some gun shots to cause people to panic. The fact that this can lead to people getting injured and make people a bit nervous can be a form of terrorism too. Just like walking into a crowded place and yelling FIRE!! To see people panic and cause injuries.
Sadly, their Mayor thinks that terrorism is just part of living in a big city, like pidgeons and pollution. Naive or enabler? No one wants to die, and that’s why it works as terrorism, when now every unusual loud noise causes extreme fear.
