Bombs Being Found Everywhere
British police carrying out a major raid in the Notting Hill area of west London have detonated at least two devices in controlled explosions, British television said Friday. Neighbours were evacuated and a news blackout was imposed before police arrested one or more suspects believed to be linked to the July 21 attempted bombings on the London transit system, according to reporters on the scene.

The British Police move fast, they got all the suspects they were looking for and one of them confesses. look at his lame brained excuse:
Man Admits Role in Failed London Attack
AP - A suspect in the failed London transit bombings admitted Saturday to a role in the attack but said it was only intended to be an attention-grabbing strike, not a deadly one, a legal expert familiar with the investigation said.

I think this shoot to kill policy is ludicrous. An innocent man was shot 8 times in the head and nobody is accountable. That is murder, it doesn't matter whether it was a cop or a terrorist who pulled the trigger.
What sort of values are we fighting for if it is alright to murder innocent people?

The guy who was shot acted extremely suspiciously, with all the markings and actions of a terrorist. He was wearing a heavy, bulky coat in the summer time, ran from the police, and, when cornered, appeared to be either pulling a weapon or activating something. The police shot him in the head to stop what appeared to them to be a possible suicide bombing.
What do you expect them to do, wait until the guy blows himself up, taking along a large goup of people?

In case any of you were wondering...
RUMSFELD: BRITAIN ATTACKS NOT TIED TO U.S. ALLIANCE
Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld sharply rejected suggestions that Britain's alliance with the United States was to blame for the two recent transit bombing attacks in London.

Now look at below:
Osama bin Laden's deputy issued a fresh slate of warnings to Western countries, threatening Britain with more destruction and the U.S. with thousands of war casualties. President Bush dismissed the threats, saying, "We will stay on the offense."

Sometimes I wonder about these statements that Rumsfeld makes on the spur of the moment.

I think that Rumsfeld, as well as many others, are saying that the real reason for the terrorist attacks is the cultural war, the Jihadist or Islamist struggle. Of course there is a tie between Britain's involvement in Iraq and Afghanistan and the attacks. But the attacks would have come anyway, sometime, somehow.
Britain is possibly even more of a target for the Islamists, since there is already a very strong, numerous Muslim minority there. And there is a real difference between the Muslim minority in Britain and the one in the US. That is that a large percentage of the Muslims in the US have assimilated into the common culture. That is not as true in the UK. That is why the British have been discussing the fact that they were attacked by "home-grown" terrorists. At least some of the attackers there were born and raised in Britain. That is really starting to make the British people nervous.

Britain May Create Secretive Terror Courts
AP - Britain is considering setting up secretive courts to make it easier to prosecute terror suspects - and to hold them without charge for longer than the current 14 days - as part of the crackdown following the deadly London bombings, officials said Tuesday.
