I thought this would be worth of death? Is the death penalty alive in Britain?

QUOTE (BBC)
All four men convicted of the 21 July 2005 London bombings are given life sentences.

Mass terrorism should not be treated kindly in the least degree.

I Is the death penalty alive in Britain?

No fortunately. The death penalty was abolished for murder in Britain in 1965. The death penalty (by hanging) remained a valid form of punishment for certain offences (including High Treason, and setting fire to HM Naval Bases or Ships) until 1998 when it was completely abolished for all crimes. No executions occured in the UK between 1965 and 1998.
