Dickov Introduction

Hi there. I hope I'm doing the right thing by introducing myself. The rules and regulations of these forums are quite strict and in a small way... unwelcoming.

I came across this site whilst looking for an Online Text based RPG and I stumbled upon this site whilst clicking blindly on links. I've always arrogantly considered myself as a more "brainy" person in my community so I thought, why not give this thing a try.

And that's where I am now.

Welcome Ta Ye Ole' Forum!

So, Ye be seeking Adventure eh? Understand this Villager... Many a brave lad and las have come here in times past seeking adventure, but they were never up to the task at hand. They have a tendency to quit long before they met the honorable requirements. This be what separates the peasants from the warriors. Wilt thou also run like a coward or be as the brave that stay to fight yet another day? Thou must do the following to be an RPGer here:

1. Post no less than 30 constructive messages keeping an activity rating of at least 75%
3. You should be AT LEAST 16 years old and intellectually vibrant
4. Read and show you understand (by the way you post) this thread on: Good Posting!

If you still have questions AFTER reading the FAQ Board then please ask them WITHIN this thread, do not start a new thread just to ask a question. This place has MANY features to help you find what you are looking for:

* SITE MAP - shows all the Boards and some features on one page
* MAIN INDEX - Click Here to see all boards
* You will also see a link or banner saying 'Phone Home' use this to get quick help!
* Go to the Test Board if you want to practise posting
9. If you cannot handle the above then feel free to delete your account.

The next thing you should do now is update your profile. You can do this by clicking the link called, 'My Controls' in the top menu. You will be given a series of fields to fill in or menus to choose from, simply answer ALL the questions, and save it! Then start posting in the many Boards we have here - you have 29 more to do, your Introduction was one of them.

Welcome to the forum Dickov!

I'm happy that you like text-based RPGs. If you want to play in this forum, you must read and follow the rules presented by Knight. You may find these rules strict at first, but in time, if you have a little patience and stick around, you'll understand how useful these rules are.

You may get the RPGer status after reaching the count of 30 -constructive- posts. Also you must maintain an activity rate over 75% (meaning about 3 posts a day).

We welcome the participation of "brainy" persons. I hope you'll have a great time posting here and I also hope to see you on the "battle field" soon.

I agree that the rules are strict but they are in place because we want to ensure we are not dealing with spammers, offenders or just time wasters. As far as "unwelcoming", I guess it is just a matter of opinion.

This is very easy. This is an International Community where we discuss different issues from all kinds of perspectives in an intellectual, mature and respectful manner. Nobody here should feel they know more than anybody else but we are here to edify and learn from each other. If you think it is something you like, then you are more than welcome to participate. If you do not, then just click at the top of this page "Delete Account".
