The day after this article in the papers the Minister of National Security went to see the British High Commissioner. It turns out this was based on a May 2017 advisory that has not been updated yet. The High Commissioner admitted there was no current advisory on Trinidad and Tobago. Things is it was there once and that's no good. There was no advisory when the first coup happened in 1990.
Trinidad and Tobago has long been an area of concern for the US military and intelligence communities as it is assessed to be home to ISIS sympathizers with officials saying that some of its citizens have traveled to Iraq and Syria to join extremist groups. Source 3g.
