It is interesting to see how the Maccabiah developed from a fantasy of a teenager and is now a major international event with about 7,000 competitors from 55 nations in the current Maccabiah that opened July 11th

Olympics Jewish Maccabiah

Would someone have to prove their ethnic or religious background to enter this Jewish Olympics or is it just taken on their word? If by proof what would they need?

Maccabiah - Jewish Olympics Judaism Studies

I am not sure but I think they trust the athletes that wish to participate because it's more of a religious event than an athletic one so there would be not much reason for non Jews to wish to participate
