
Do you think some books should have purchase restrictions based on how graphic the material is either by text or pictures? If you agree, then on what basis. just for books with pictures? What about if the text is very explicit? What are your thoughts?
Note: This topic is not about adult magazines, but Books - well bound and covering sensitive issues that if it were made into a film it would probably be rated R or even X.
I think it would be appropriate to have a rating system - perhaps not for every book, but more like the parental advisory on CDs. To me, there is a huge difference between books on, say, public heath, and books meant to arouse sexual feelings. Banning books is a dangerous practice, but why not at least put small warning stickers on books with strong sexual themes, and not allow children to check them out without parents' consent?
