Palmeiro's positive test strong steroid, paper reports
QUOTE |
NEW YORK -- Rafael Palmeiro's positive steroid test was for stanozolol, a powerful anabolic steroid that is not available in dietary supplements, according to a newspaper report The New York Times, citing a person in baseball with direct knowledge of the sport's drug-testing program, reported on its website Tuesday that Palmeiro tested positive for the drug known by the brand name Winstrol, most notably linked to the Olympic sprinter Ben Johnson of Canada. The person who said that Palmeiro tested positive for stanozolol did not want to be identified because the testing policy prohibits anyone in baseball from disclosing information about test results without authorization, the Times said. |

Palmeiro Gets Mixed Cheers As Orioles Lose
AP - It might be a while before Rafael Palmeiro regains his home run swing, and it will probably take a little longer for Baltimore Orioles fans to completely forgive the troubled slugger. Palmeiro went 0-for-4 in his first game since returning from a 10-day suspension for using steroids, making the final out with two runners on Sunday in Baltimore's 7-6 loss to the Toronto Blue Jays.
