NASA FINDS TENTH PLANET
A planet larger than Pluto has been discovered in the outlying regions of our solar system.
The planet was discovered using the Samuel Oschin Telescope at Palomar Observatory near San Diego, Calif. The discovery was announced today by planetary scientist Dr. Mike Brown of the California Institute of Technology in Pasadena, Calif., whose research is partly funded by NASA.

Is this discovery the same one discussed in this thread:

Or is it yet another find? In any case all those solar maps have to be redesigned again.
You only gave a link to another forum. What kind of evidence is that? It is not true and should not be spread around as a rumour until it is posted officially on NASA's website and given official consent from all the appropriate places. This is simply a forum you referenced and it is not even close to concrete evidence and is only posted by some "joe blow" which could very well be making it up. It should not and will not ever be true or believed until published officially.
This here is concrete evidence:

...But who knows if it is the same "Xena" planet you and "joe" are talking about. Edited: naturality on 5th Aug, 2005 - 12:31am
I'm sorry if I upset you or if I caused any trouble ... I wasn't trying to "bring evidence", I just wanted to draw attention to the discovery of another planet (and you proved it yourself that I was correct). Of course, your link is better that my first one, so here is another - earlier - link:

Offtopic but, First I read about this subject in a local (romanian) paper, I made a search on google and I posted the first link I have found related to it. BTW, you could have used a lighter/nicer tone in your post |
That's a surprise to me I wasn't expecting another planet in out solar system but I never really looked into the excess space beyond pluto. I am still happy for us and would probaly imagine there would be more than just xena.
There has long been a debate if Pluto should even been called a planet. Its orbit is eccentric, it is very small and its moon is roughly the same size as it. There is a belief that Xena will be one of many such objects that will be discovered orbiting the sun in this area. These are icy hard rocks and far different than the other outer gas planets in the solar system starting with Jupiter. It would probably be more appropriate to call it 8 planets were it not for the history involved.
