Drug test victim 'may lose toes, fingers'
QUOTE |
A man who was left critically ill after taking part in a clinical drug trial in Britain said in an interview published Sunday that he probably will lose parts of his toes and fingers. The News of the World newspaper printed photographs of Ryan Wilson showing that the tips of his fingers and all of his toes are black as he recovers at St. Mark's Hospital in London. |
Living this close to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Centre, we have so many advertisements in the newspaper for both drug trials and experimental procedures that I think sometimes people make their living being human guinea pigs! Also, as Dartmouth is a teaching hospital (meaning they are a medical university too) they are even more apt to have clinical trials that one can participate in and be compensated. I'm too much of a chicken, I guess!
