Prime Minister Helen Clark's motorcade reached speeds of up to 172kmh on South Island roads before she caught a flight to watch a rugby test, a court has been told.

Laws are designed to be followed by everyone, and if they are broken, the justice needs to be enforced, regardless of who broke them. In this case, it is even more disturbing that speeding was used to catch a flight to see a rugby game. What probably is going to happen is these drivers will be heavily reprimanded when they were following orders from a higher authority. That is the sad part about all of this.

Here is the follow-up to this story keeping in mind that they did not loose their jobs and were not fined, so then, why even bring them in court?
