If I were to suddenly show up at your home unexpectedly and you invited me in, what would I see? Would I see a clean or dirty home? Would everything be tucked away nicely or thrown everywhere? Would music be playing in the background or utter silence?

Parts are very clean, some are "cluttered," and there are a few that need some attention wink.gif You would find 3 TVs, maybe 4, all going at the same time, all on different channels. And then you would find me, sitting at the computer typing furiously -- surely something meaningful and important -- ignoring the areas that need my attention!

You would not find a filthy home, but it is in need of cleaning. I haven't been home lately on the weekends to clean as I normally would. If you have never been to my home before, I would be embarrassed to have you see it now for the first time. If you have been in my home before, I would apologize for the state it is in, but I wouldn't be very embarrassed because I know you would realize my house is usually much neater.

Those of you that have had a two year old can understand. It depends what time of the day you drop by. laugh.gif After he falls asleep around 9ish, I clean the living room (which resembles a play room with all his toys) and the house is clean until he finishes his breakfast the next morning, which at that point he destroys the house again while I get ready for work. For the most part, our house is generally clean and picked up (I'm obsessive/compulsive so everything including the stack of mail has it's certain direction and is stacked from smallest on top to largest on bottom).
From the moment you walk in the front door, you see about 5 or six different colors in one view. We vowed to never have "plain white walls" so there is no white in our house at all. Warm Terracotta, Hunters Green, Warm Cherry Red and some different variations of those colors greet you at the front door, my son's room is Sky Blue, and our room is dark purple like Eggplant.
If it's the weekend, you will hear lots of dance music playing in the house, mostly 80's dance or techno, but all other times, you'll hear some children's program.

You would probably see some lego blocks and toy trains strewed around the living room. Also some bags of chips or pretzels on the coffee table. These would be there courtesy of my 2-year old son. Other than that, I think we keep a pretty clean house; the best we can do with 2 kids and a dog. I suppose the first thing you would discover walking through the door is a 100lb golden retriever greeting you at the door, looking for attention and love wink.gif

Well depends on what day it is. Monday all would be nice and clean and all put away...by Friday floors would need a scrub and stairs etc. In general Morning time all is put away by night all messed up and then cleaned around 7 by me and my children ready for the next day. Also you would likely note some rooms are in need of projects to be finished other looking new. But overall well lived in. Likely to hear either a children's show on tv, or rock and roll blasting with a 9 year old beating on the drums trying to keep the beat and a 4 year old strumming(well hit strings any how) an acoustic guitar. Garage a war zone in which the lumber yard appears to be winning in.

My philosophy is I have my young children for 9 years then they start turning into young men and 9 years later my children are all gone replaced by mysterious adults bringing beautiful creatures home that they are intending on marrying. So knowing this I believe my time is to be spent with them helping them grow. When that is done the dirt will still be there waiting on me .... how ever deep it may be.
