Warren D Introduction

I've been searching for a forum with a little less name-calling and more constructive analysis regarding International affairs. So far my search has brought me here! I've posted on other forums but find they can get very childish at times. The registration process for this forum seems to indicate that immature behavior is not welcome here. I hope the board is referring to silly personal attacks which have no barring on the issue being discussed.

I almost graduated with a BA (with honors) in Political Science. Fortunately I had several epiphanies that led me to where I am now. Although I am intrigued by this topic I became increasingly dismayed at my University. That is, when I made the decision to graduate with a regular BA rather than an honors my counselor kept on trying to sway me in the other direction (honors degree). After long debate I quickly realized her true intention... PROFIT. It was at this moment I decided to tell my University to go stuff it. I was jaded for a few years and stopped paying attention to the international political economy. The war in Afghanistan sparked my political intrigue and I have been active for several years now.

I am Canadian but have lived elsewhere. I was born and raised for most my life in Toronto, Canada. My father had a small land development company that has brought me to Florida, Guatemala (city) and Las Vegas. I have also had the fortunate situation to be able to travel across Europe twice. My next stop is either South America or Asia.

I am a small business owner and a socialist. My brothers and I have all followed in our father's footsteps and started our own businesses. My youngest brother and I have been running a small "alternative" health business for about seven years. I guess you can say I don't have too much optimism for our current state of Western medicine or health. I also believe that workers should have a more (complete) democratic stake in corporations. Democracy is more than voting once every four years.

I primarily enjoy political, philosophical, environmental and spiritual discussion. I also believe the above topics are intrinsically intertwined. I come to this board to learn more. When I am comfortable and learn about your perspectives on this forum I will post more often.

Peace!

Warren D

Warren D Introduction

Hi Warren. Great and informative intro. I'm LDS_forever and I'm from Argentina. Please feel free to check the site around and join our discussions. We enjoy intellectual discussions without all the silly rants and name calling. We disagree but we do not take things personal. We are like a family here even though our perspective of life and opinions are different from each other. I look forward reading more of your posts.
