Expert: Sedative caused 1-year-old boy to suffocate in his sleep
CourtTV - BILLINGS, Mont. (Court TV) - A toxicologist who studies the effects of drugs on children told jurors Monday that the only plausible explanation for the death of toddler Dane Heggem was that he suffocated in his sleep after being given a dose of allergy medication.

In a follow up to this story the day care owner was found guilty. It makes you wonder exactly what we actually know about child care.

This just sickens me. Being a parent, I guess, changes your views on stories like this, and I just can't imagine having to add that to my thoughts every morning when I drop my son off at daycare. What's sad is that it is probably happening everywhere and other daycares or sitters are just not getting caught.
