I do not know how many of you have been tracking this story, but it is interesting the kind of lengths people will go to in order to remain within their own world. However, one has to also wonder if he is not simply a mastermind? What do you think?

The newspaper said he had previously worked with mentally ill patients and had copied some of their characteristics.

Doctors were quoted four months ago as saying the man had drawn a grand piano after being given a pen and paper and had later played classical music on a chapel piano for hours.

The Mirror cast doubt on that, saying he could "hardly play a note."

Most who consider themselves artists become actors as well, behaving with carefully calculated steps to preserve the aura of their self-made creative mood. This can be helpful or completely self-destructive, depending on the degree and direction of the delusion. I think this guy knew exactly what he was doing, to an extent. Perhaps he even did it to completely destroy his previous identity.

Even though he covered his identity, I think he has lots of mental issues. The fact that he tried to committ suicide prior to being caught by the police, its clear proof. I hope he gets the help he needs.

The article said that the man was quoted as saying he tried to commit suicide. I do believe he needs help, but not in that way. The photos with the article say a lot -- he's definitely posing, in my opinion.

Or maybe, he did it to gain fame so that he could later make more money, after all, this made the international news. Having an aura of the 'mystery man' can get you into certain circles I suppose, but what I really want to know is... can he play the piano?
