DETROIT - "The Detroit Lions have high hopes for the upcoming season. Despite compiling the N-F-L's worst record over the past four years, quarterback Joey Harrington says he sees no reason why the Lions can't win their division."

It sounds like the Lions have their hopes set high this year. It's never enjoyable coming back from a NFL's worst record rating. Making it to the playoff's this year would be quite an accomplishment. Do you think the Lions can break their record streak of bad luck this year? Can they win their division?
The lions have had high hopes every year. They have had Barry Sanderless shock for years since he left. Joey Harrington is not a good QB. He makes bad decisions in low stress situations, in high stress situations its interception city. I don't see the Lions doing much this year. They have made a couple acquisitions that may keep them from having the worst record this year, but not good enough to make any real impact on the division, even though it is weak.

For the first time in 3 years, the Lions have drafted someone other than a WR in the first round. The pick today was Ernie Sims, LB from Florida State. Being a FSU fan myself, this is a great pick in my opinion. Sims is super fast, and has sideline to sideline speed that is unmatched among the linebackers coming out of college, besides maybe A.J Hawk. Sims will help booster an ailing Detroit defense, and help the team challenge the likes of Minnesota and Chicago. Great pick!
