QUOTE A thief collapsed and died while fleeing with a car he had just stolen, according to a statement released by police in Malaysia.
In an unusual turn of events, the car thief drove away with a seven-year-old child inside only to die a few miles away in Setapak.
The boy was safely reunited with his family after passersby who noticed him crying alone in the vehicle, turned him over to police.
The incident began at 7:00 am, when the child's mother, a 30-year-old teacher, was taking her two daughters to a childcare center in Taman Melati.
The mother accompanied her daughters to the center when the thief stole the car with the 7-year-old boy still inside.
"She left the child in the car with the engine running when the thief got into the car and drove away," Police officer Datuk Ku Chin Wah said. Source 6
