I have read the topic "What Are You Ashamed About in Your Countries' History"? so I am balancing the metaphorical pendulum.
For me I have to speak for two countries, Russia and America...
Russia
Excellent public transportation Every little hamlet has at least a tiny bus stop
America
Interstate Highway System
What a brilliant idea!
With such a vast country and long distances to cross it's annoying to travel on two-lane highways stopping at traffic lights in every little hamlet.
National Park System
This is the most underrated part of America. It was America's idea! Yellowstone was the first national park in the world in 1872. Today it the system has 58 national parks, a bunch of national monuments, national memorials, national seashores, national lakeshores, national rivers and a whole lot of other classifactions. All of them are different. I can't compare Gates of the Arctic to the Everglades for example. In this case they are opposite. If you come to America,I recomend you visit at least one national park. www.nps.gov is the website for the National Park Service.

I live in America.
I suppose the fact that its the land of opportunity. Though I have been laid off, learning and studying has enable me to continue to get better and better paying jobs. Now I am at a wonderful job with lots of promotion opportunity and great pay.
I think what I love most about living in the United States is that I can enjoy freedom of religion. Though we do have constant law suits and court cases about trying to take God out of the pledge, etc., the fact remains that I don't have to meet out in the woods at night for a church service. I don't have to hide a chapter or two of my Bible in a hole in the wall. I can practice my religion without it being illegal. There are so many persecuted nations out there who have to hide their Christianity, and many of them lose their lives if they are found out. I don't have to worry about it.
Japan, my home country: The great things about Japan are the shopping (I had to say it!) and the amount of education we receive as children. We are very advanced in our linguistics as well. And, we are all mostly cute! Americans think so anyway!
China, my other country: China is fabulous if you want buy everything 1/9th of the price you buy it for in fully developed country like America or Japan. China also has the best food in the world, in my opinions. The education is really hard and forced but the Chinese really try and it is not shameful.
America, my new country: America is great! Everyone is so kind to foriegners and private school is not difficult at all. It is cheaper than Japan and food is better than Japan X3 But I still prefer Japan.
New Zealand:
Hobbits
Can surf in the morning and ski in the afternoon... then catch another wave before the sun sets.
TV: we get the best of British and the best of American.
Rugby: We the best!
Scenery.
It's the only country in the world where movie stars say Hello to you before you say Hello to them.
