The Dark Tower Movie

They released the trailer today for The Dark Tower movie. It is based off a series of books by Stephen King. Idris Elba and Matthew McConaughey play the primary roles. It is based on another world that is tied to ours by the Black Tower. It is a western world with remnants of technology from a greater civilization.

I will have to go see this movie. Much cheaper than reading the books. I may read the books too you never know.

This sounds pretty interesting and we seem to have similar tastes (Silmarilian anyone) so I'm going to go see this one. I'll probably read the book as well… given time.

I hope the move does good enough to make a Dark Tower movie franchise. I sort-of wish it was a TV series so it could be the next "Game of Thrones".

The Dark Tower was a mixture of old with new. You have a gunslinger acting as a knight and an enemy that uses both magic and technology to commit their evil acts. That part was unusual but workable but I can't help but think the whole movie was really the dream of a boy who lost his father. I liked it, it was not boring but its not a movie I will rate together with something that has more depth to it like the Matrix trilogy *wink*.
