Have you ever considered the reason for the movement of stars? Consider the following:
A star moves for the same reason that nebulae and galaxies move - because of momentum left over from the impetus of the Big Bang (the beginning of the Universe). "A star cannot just stand still in space. When it was born [from a cloud of moving dust], it was already in motion and it cannot just stop," says Guy Ottewell in The Astronomical Companion. Bodies can't stop unless acted upon by a force, as Sir Isaac Newton stated in 1665.

And the couch potato law that bodies at rest will remain at rest unless acted upon by a force.
Stars do seem to be moving away from a common origin as well as being acted upon by the gravitational and magnetic fields of other bodies. This data combined with other dynamics is how the age of the universe is estimated. This estimate is very difficult do do because it is hard to measure the distances and it is still unclear if the speed of light has remained constant during this time. There is are also complications with trying to measure the mass of the objects seen and unseen and unclear if all of the forces have in fact been discovered yet. There is always new science being done in this area.
